Job ID: 115250The Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems business is a trusted provider of innovative naval gas and hybrid power systems, control technology and support solutions for the U.S. Navy and navies around the world.Job SummaryEnsure that all aspects of site environmental, health and safety are managed in compliance with applicable laws and in conformance with the DRS EH&S PolicyJob ResponsibilitiesEnsure that a proactive safety programs developed and implemented, complete with metricsInterface with and manage relationships with all applicable government and regulatory agenciesManaging site performance and contract commitments to deliver continuous performanceLead teams in the risk assessment processOversee and deliver all related EHS development and training programsMaintain required procedures, plans, training materials and related documents to ensure audit readiness at any timeAdditional responsibilities include providing EHS audit services, as well as project management and training as requiredSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationLeading the participation by business leaders in administering the day-to-day aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety managementActing as an advocate for Green Initiatives within the organizationAs requested, serving as the emergency coordinator for the siteMaintaining relationships with regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over the facility(ies)QualificationsBS degree in Environmental Science or related field required with a minimum of 5 years of experience in EHS in a manufacturing environment, as well as a proven record of success developing, implementing and managing effective EH&S programsManagement experience and superior teamwork skills are essential as is the ability to lead and build teams and to effectively identify and resolve conflictsStrong communication, organization and negotiation skills are mandatoryMust have excellent PC-based computer skillsExperience with OSHA and annual compliance training strongly preferredU.S. Citizenship required. The salary range for this position is $114,725-$178,111. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
