Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients with complex medical oncology conditions, ensuring safe administration of treatments and monitoring of patient responses in a 12-hour day/night shift setting.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for side effects, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Interpret cardiac arrhythmias and respond promptly to abnormal findings.
• Conduct high-level respiratory care, including managing trachs, chest tubes, Airvo, Cpap, and Bipap devices.
• Recognize and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions, prioritizing critical situations.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate comprehensive end-of-life and hospice care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure quality care.

Qualifications:

• Possess valid nursing license with proven experience in complex medical oncology nursing.
• Have STEP DOWN experience with a strong understanding of patient deterioration.
• Hold current ACLS certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac arrhythmia interpretation and respiratory management.
• Exhibit excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in high-pressure environments.
