LEGAL SERVICES SPECIALIST

Job Summary

Qualifications

The minimum and preferred requirements are listed below. Education and Experience: Minimum: Equivalent to graduation from high school and one (1) year of responsible office support experience involving the preparation and processing of legal documents for court action.

Preferred: Completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from an accredited college with major coursework in business, public administration, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience as a legal secretary in a legal office or court setting.

Licensing and Certification:

• Ability to obtain a valid California Class C driver's license within ten (10) days of employment; may be required to maintain the license throughout employment at the discretion of the Appointing Authority.
• Typing Certificate: Minimum net of 40 wpm. Typing certificate must reflect results from a five (5) minute test with at least the required net wpm.

Special Requirements:

• Successfully complete an extensive and thorough background investigation, including Live Scan fingerprinting.
• Required to perform disaster service activities pursuant to Government Code 3100-3109.
