Here’s What You Need Bachelor's Degree Completion of an Occupational Therapy program is required. 2 years of experience in inpatient/acute care is strongly preferred. Occupational Therapy License (OT - Occupational Therapist Texas Occupational Therapy License upon hire is required). BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required. Good verbal and written communication skills in English; problem solving ability; ability to teach others; time management skills; good interpersonal and customer service skills; basic leadership skills. What You Will Do Perform age‑appropriate patient assessment and establish plan of care. Demonstrate competence in the performance of age‑appropriate patient assessment and individualize care based on age‑specific needs. Demonstrate competence in the performance of age‑appropriate patient treatment and individualize care based on age‑specific needs. Motivate non‑compliant or unmotivated patients to participate in therapy. Utilize available resources (equipment, support personnel, educational resources) to maximize efficiency and productivity and to meet personal developmental needs. Participate appropriately in departmental safety drills/emergency procedures as required. Document and report unusual occurrences, on‑the‑job injuries, and medical device malfunctioning.
