Step into a rewarding role supporting an elementary student as an ASL Paraprofessional. This full-time contract opportunity offers a meaningful chance to make a direct impact in the classroom while working 32 hours per week. You'll play a key part in helping a young learner thrive by providing dedicated assistance within a welcoming school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Previous experience as a paraprofessional in school settings preferred
- Passion for working with elementary-aged children
- Patient, compassionate, and highly adaptable to student needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers and staff
- EIPA certification is not required
What You'll Do:
- Provide direct support and communication assistance to a male elementary student throughout the school day
- Facilitate learning by interpreting classroom instruction and supporting engagement
- Assist with both academic and social integration to help the student participate fully
- Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and other professionals to ensure the student's individual needs are met
- Encourage independence and self-advocacy while maintaining a supportive presence
- Support the student during classroom activities, transitions, and on-campus movement
