Job Overview

Our organization is proud to introduce a state-of-the-art facility, established in 2014, featuring a Medical-Surgical Department with 13 beds, complemented by a 3-bed ICU. We maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1 during the day and 5:1 at night, ensuring quality care. A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is available on all shifts, and we provide 24/7 security to ensure the safety of both patients and staff. Nurses typically work 12-hour shifts and are scheduled every third weekend. Due to our smaller size, we foster strong relationships with our patients, making it an ideal starting point for many nursing careers. Our team is often referred to as a second family, creating a supportive and welcoming work environment.

• Week 4: Tuesday, Thursday
• Week 5: Saturday
• Week 6: Wednesday, Thursday

Job Responsibilities

The primary duties include:

• Applying medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance patient care and quality of life for patients and their families.
• Building effective relationships and advocating for patients to tailor care plans to their specific needs.
• Utilizing the nursing process to create and execute care plans, gather assessment data, establish nursing diagnoses, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Formulating assessment and management strategies that consider various dimensions of health, including physical, cultural, and social factors.
• Demonstrating an understanding of how illnesses affect patients' overall well-being.
• Exercising leadership by collaborating with patients, families, and healthcare teams to assess needs and plan interventions.
• Engaging in effective communication to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
• Educating patients and families on health maintenance and comfort measures.
• Promoting a healthy work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
• Incorporating evidence-based practices into nursing care, tailored to the specific needs of patients.
• Maintaining a state of alertness and safety while performing duties.
• Conducting point-of-care testing as per established protocols.
• Completing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program or possess equivalent educational qualifications for licensing.

Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Demands

Key physical requirements include:

• Frequent oral communication and active listening.
• Constant standing and walking.
• Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry tasks.
• Regular visual acuity for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
• Frequent olfactory and auditory skills for detecting sounds and odors.
• Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs and moving patients.
• Occasional bending, stooping, and other physical movements.
• Rarely involves crawling or running.

Licensure and Certifications

Required certifications include:

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from the American Heart Association.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license from the relevant state regulatory body.
