Associate Family Law Attorney

SeiferFlatow, PLLC is a highly reviewed Charlotte law firm looking for a Family Law Associate, preferably with one to three years of experience who wants to own their files, not just support someone else's. You will draft pleadings, propound and respond to discovery, prepare witnesses, and meet directly with clients. You will manage deadlines across multiple active matters and build strategy around the facts in front of you. The caseload includes divorce, custody, child support, equitable distribution, and domestic violence. You will work alongside attorneys who have served Charlotte families since 2011 and who expect the same accountability and advocacy from everyone on the team. This is not a back-bench role. You will have direct client contact, courtroom exposure, and partners who trust you to run your cases. Responsibilities Draft and file pleadings, discovery, and motions. Propound and respond to discovery. Prepare witnesses and meet with clients. Manage deadlines across multiple active files. Develop case strategy from intake through resolution. Communicate with clients promptly and keep the team informed. Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and in court. Collaborate with partners and paralegals on complex matters. Qualifications J.D. from an accredited law school. Active North Carolina bar license, required. South Carolina licensure is a plus. One to three years of family law experience preferred. Strong legal writing. The ability to read a fact pattern, spot the issue, and build a strategy around it. Comfort working independently while keeping the team informed. Reliable judgment about when to push and when to pick up the phone. A candidate who owns their files and meets their deadlines without being managed into it.
