This role involves performing comprehensive vehicle diagnostics, completing scheduled maintenance, and carrying out mechanical and electrical repairs in accordance with industry standards and manufacturer specifications. Day-to-day tasks include inspecting vehicles, identifying issues, recommending repairs, ordering or requesting parts, and documenting work performed in repair orders. The technician will use diagnostic tools and equipment, follow safety procedures, and collaborate with service advisors and other team members to ensure accurate estimates, timely repairs, and a positive customer experience. The role also includes test-driving vehicles as needed, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and staying current on evolving automotive technologies and best practices.QualificationsStrong experience with general automotive repair and maintenance, including brakes, suspension, engine performance, and electrical systems.Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, shop equipment, and technical manuals to identify and resolve vehicle issues.Ability to read and interpret repair orders, service bulletins, and manufacturer specifications with attention to detail.Solid problem-solving skills, including systematic troubleshooting and accurate root-cause analysis.Effective communication skills for working with service advisors, team members, and customers in a clear, professional manner.Commitment to safety practices, shop cleanliness, and proper handling of tools, equipment, and materials.Prior experience as an automotive technician or mechanic in a professional shop environment; ASE certifications or manufacturer training are highly beneficial.Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and the ability to operate a range of vehicles safely.Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work full-time hours, including occasional overtime as business needs require.High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training in automotive technology is a plus.
