Job Description

Need: Lorenzo Food Group seeks a Senior Accountant to record monthly journal entries for financial statement preparation and to function as a key contributor in the monthly accounting close, while providing analytical and reconciliation support to the finance and accounting department. The job may also include book keeping matters and recording accurate inputs and outputs to accounting subsystems.

Staff Accountant Job Duties:

• Analyze internal and external financial data, and input adjustments and JE’s into the company general ledger system.
• Input and reconcile payables and receivables data.
• Maintain both accounting accuracy and confidentiality of accounting results.
• Develop analytical spreadsheets and financial models for actual, variance and budgetary reporting.
• Prepare monthly general ledger entries and account reconciliations as needed.
• Maintain company chart of accounts and other administrative tasks within the Accounting Dept, while ensuring accounting procedures are rigorously followed. Suggest improvements to internal control policies when needed.
• Research accounting issues and recommend and report solutions.
• Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results on-time and accurately.

Staff Accountant Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience. CPA is not necessary.
• Intermediate Excel user.
• Highly organized professional with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Self-starter with excellent time and project management skills.
• Ability to approach problems analytically and with good business acumen.
