Procurement Category Manager

LGC Group seeks a Procurement Category Manager to develop sourcing strategies, manage vendor relationships, and optimize spend for the Diagnostics and Genomics Business Unit. The role combines strategic category management with supplier oversight and process improvement initiatives in Petaluma, California.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives and market analysis
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities including RFx processes, negotiations, and contracting
- Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships; conduct performance reviews and manage risk
- Identify and implement procurement process improvements and standardized ways of working
- Support junior team members and ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- 5+ years of procurement, category management, or strategic sourcing experience
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and project management capabilities
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and change management
- Team management skills and proficiency with ERP and e-sourcing platforms
- Excellent stakeholder communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Proficiency with MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Compensation: $124,440–$168,360 base per year
