Where You'll Work A 64-bed adult psychiatric facility, Lasting Hope Recovery Center is a place of healing. All of the rooms are private. At Lasting Hope Recovery Center, patients find comfort and a team of caring professionals working for them. Often, mental illness and substance abuse occur at the same time. CHI Health Lasting Hope Recovery Center offers an entire range of treatment and prevention services to meet the needs of patients experiencing both challenges. Treatment is built on personal strengths and support systems that treat individuals experiencing these illnesses. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Security Officer, you will maintain the highest level of safety and security by patrolling assigned areas, diligently deterring, detecting, and investigating suspicious activity or crime. Every day you will effectively monitor electronic surveillance equipment and hospital emergency systems, dispatch appropriate personnel via radio, and actively patrol to protect individuals and property, all while embodying our core values and supporting strategic quality improvement. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional vigilance, strong observational skills, proficiency in electronic surveillance and dispatch systems, and a commitment to protecting our community while upholding our organizational values and contributing to a secure environment.
- Protecting staff, patients, and visitors by responding to calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner. Calls may include incidents such as violent or unruly patients, visitors, crimes committed or in progress, or to emergency codes, and requests for opening doors.
- Patrol the facility and grounds by foot or vehicle; monitor security alarms and dispatch officers promptly to location(s) where needed; and report unsafe acts or conditions.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures, equipment, and supplies, including of radios and hospital codes
- Reports HIPAA breaches if witnessed; investigate security breaches, conducts investigations, and writes incident reports.
- Ensures that l all activities are logged. That incident reports are accurately completed that they are clear, concise, legible, and submitted in a timely manner.
- Use appropriate emergency and radio codes in dispatching security officers while knowing hospital campus to ensure that dispatches are to write location.
- High School Graduate or equivalent and Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting , upon hire or
- Six (6) months experience as security officer in a healthcare setting or
- One (1) year experience as a security officer.
- Driver's License: NE, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 90 Days
