Executive Director, Global Procurement - Commercial Category Strategy

Gilead Sciences seeks an Executive Director to lead global Commercial Procurement strategy and operations. This enterprise leadership role involves developing procurement strategies across critical categories, driving business transformation, managing strategic supplier partnerships, and leading a global team aligned with company growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute long-term global commercial procurement strategy aligned with enterprise objectives
- Serve as key advisor to executive leadership on market intelligence, competitive insights, and procurement recommendations
- Lead procurement transformation programs, technology adoption, and process optimization initiatives
- Develop strategic supplier relationships and oversee complex negotiations for high-value agreements
- Build and lead high-performing global procurement team through talent development and organizational leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 16+ years relevant experience, or Master's degree and 14+ years
- Experience leading global procurement organizations in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or healthcare
- Expertise in commercial procurement, strategic sourcing, and category management
- Proven track record with enterprise transformation initiatives and operating model evolution
- Executive presence with ability to influence senior leadership and drive strategic decisions
- MBA or advanced business degree preferred
