Job Description
The Manual ID/OD/Surface Grinder plays a crucial role in precision grinding of custom prototypes and standard parts within a small team environment. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the grinder is responsible for machine setup, operation, quality inspection, and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and accurate surface finishing according to blueprints.
Responsibilities
- Perform grinding operations on custom prototypes and low-volume details
- Set up and adjust grinding machines for manual ID, OD, and surface grinding
- Inspect parts to ensure dimensional accuracy and surface quality
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to meet specifications
- Maintain grinding tools and equipment through regular maintenance
- Collaborate effectively within a team of 1-2 grinders
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of manual surface grinding techniques
- Familiarity with measurement tools and quality control processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective time management
Willing to train a motivated, entry-level candidate.
