Certified Medical Assistant We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support a primary care physician in a busy outpatient clinic. This role involves both patient care and administrative duties to help ensure a smooth and positive patient experience. Responsibilities Room patients and prepare them for appointments. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and weight. Assist with patient check-in and check-out. Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care. Order lab tests and document results in the EMR system. Perform point-of-care testing as directed. Handle patient phone calls, follow-up, and communication of test results. Process medication refill requests. Prepare and stock exam rooms and clinical supplies. Complete basic office duties, including filing, scanning, and documentation. Maintain accurate patient records in the EMR. Work closely with physicians and clinical staff to provide quality patient care. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential required. Previous Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a primary care or clinic setting. Experience taking vital signs, rooming patients, and performing basic clinical procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems; Cerner/PowerChart experience is a plus. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment. Work Schedule MondayFriday 8:00 AM 4:30 PM Work Environment Outpatient primary care clinic Fast-paced, patient-focused setting Frequent use of EMR systems and basic medical equipment Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Knoxville, TN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
