Job Summary and Qualifications

The EKG Tech functions as a resource person to physicians and their staff, family members and hospital staff. Prepare patients and perform Electrocardiograms, and other tests within their scope of practice.

What you will do in this role:

• You will operate electrocardiograph equipment to record electromotive variations in heart muscle actions.


• You will prepare patients for electrocardiograms by explaining testing procedures, fastening to, and removing electrodes from specific areas of arms, legs, and chest.


• You will enter patient demographic information into electrocardiograph.

• You will clean, adjust and perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.


• You will perform pacer and loop recorder interrogations and follow-up processes.

What qualifications you will need:

Must have one or both of the following:

1. High School Diploma or GED Required

2. Completion of a recognized EKG training program preferred.

3. BCLS Certification Currently or received within 30 days of hire.

4. Experience Preferred
