Desktop Support Technician Location: New London, CT Position Type: Contract Category: Technical Support Engineer / Analyst Position Summary We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support within a fast-paced environment. This role supports daily IT operations and technology deployment initiatives while delivering exceptional customer service to end users. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and eager to learn. This position requires providing high-touch technical support to healthcare professionals, administrative staff, and business users while troubleshooting hardware, software, and network-related issues both onsite and remotely. Key Responsibilities Provide desktop support for end users Troubleshoot and resolve Windows operating system issues, application problems, and hardware failures. Manage user accounts, permissions, and access requests through Active Directory. Support desktops, laptops, thin clients, workstations, and multifunction printers. Respond to support requests in person, via phone, email, and remote support tools. Diagnose and resolve basic network connectivity issues, including IP conflicts and network drive mapping. Configure, deploy, and maintain new hardware and technology equipment. Assist with computer builds, deployments, upgrades, refreshes, and cleanup projects. Troubleshoot printer issues and peripheral device connectivity. Work with patch panels and assist in resolving network-related incidents. Document incidents, resolutions, and support activities accurately within the ticketing system. Perform routine rounding and provide proactive support to end users. Travel between local sites as needed to support business requirements. Required Qualifications 1+ years of desktop support, IT support, or help desk experience. Strong experience supporting Windows environments. Experience managing user accounts and permissions in Active Directory. Knowledge of PC hardware, desktop support, and Microsoft Office applications. Experience troubleshooting: Network connectivity issues IP addressing conflicts Network drive mapping Printer connectivity Peripheral devices Ability to provide both onsite and remote technical support. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Strong documentation and ticket management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a healthcare or clinical environment. Experience supporting thin clients and multifunction printers. Knowledge of basic networking concepts and patch panel troubleshooting. Previous experience supporting executives, clinicians, or other high-touch user groups. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Greenwich, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
