HI - RN Surgical Acute - Varied

Job Title

Any traveler not currently in possession of an active State of HI license must apply upon acceptance of offer. Candidate must have Hawaii License by start of assignment. This is a 34 bed adult surgical job with duties including types of procedures required. Standard RPN III duties/skills. Knowledgeable in surgical pre/postoperative care. Equipment utilized in the unit/department includes vital signs machines, IV & PCA pumps, WOWS/EMR charting, Pyxis. Required skills and minimum years of experience include standard RPN III skills (at least 2 years experience) in order to be proficient in duties and role as a registered nurse; strong work experience in pre/postoperative nursing (i.e. abdominal surgeries, like lap chole/appy, mastectomies, thyroidectomies, chest tubes, drains).

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required include: BLS, ACLS.

Shift or schedule requirements include: Travelers will be assigned three 12 hour shifts per week. Floating to other units/departments. Travelers may be assigned to float to other units. Nurse to patient ratio of this unit is 1 RN to 5-6 patients. Dress Code: Regular nursing uniforms.

Shift: 13-week contract. Surgical is a 12-hr. shift unit. No 'on call' requirement. Must be able to work shifts/weekends. Must be flexible.
