Due to continued growth, the business is looking to strengthen its New York operations team with an experienced Ocean Import Specialist who can take ownership of international shipments from arrival through final delivery. About the Role This is a fully onsite position based in New York, focused on managing international ocean import shipments from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for coordinating every stage of the import process, working closely with overseas offices, steamship lines, customs brokers, trucking companies, warehouses, and customers to ensure cargo moves efficiently and compliantly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of their files and thrives in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment. Key Responsibilities Manage international ocean import shipments from A–Z Coordinate with overseas agents, steamship lines, customs brokers, trucking companies, and warehouses Prepare and review import documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance Arrange cargo release, customs clearance, and final delivery Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers Resolve operational issues while maintaining a high level of customer service Ensure shipment files are maintained accurately within CargoWise Complete billing, file management, and operational administration in a timely manner Build strong relationships with customers, overseas partners, and service providers Ensure all shipments are handled in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements Candidate Requirements Previous experience within ocean import freight forwarding operations Proven ability to manage ocean import shipments from A–Z Strong understanding of ocean freight documentation and U.S. import procedures Experience working with steamship lines, customs brokers, truckers, warehouses, and overseas agents Excellent communication and customer service skills Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipment files simultaneously Comfortable working in a fully onsite, team-oriented environment What You Can Expect 100% onsite role based in New York Opportunity to join a growing international freight forwarding organization Collaborative operations team with strong internal support Exposure to global trade lanes and international import operations Long-term career development within an established logistics business #J-18808-Ljbffr
