CustodianUnder supervision, to maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of classrooms, cafeteria, offices, restrooms, hallways and yard.Reports to: Supervisor of Maintenance, Operations and Transportation.Ability to:Communicate effectively in oral and written formUnderstand and carry out oral and written directionsEstablish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children and adultsComply with appropriate cleanliness standards, health standardsComply with district Uniform Dress PolicyPass the Pre-Employment PhysicalPass T.B. and fingerprint clearanceEducation: High School diploma or equivalent to completion of Twelfth Grade; Possession of a minimum Class "C" drivers license.Essential functions of this position:Sweep assigned areas on a scheduled basis.Clean assigned equipment, sinks, counters, cabinets and window sills.Empty trash containers in assigned rooms, offices and hallways.Dust assigned rooms and offices on a scheduled basis.Mop and wax assigned rooms, offices and hallways.Water plants, yard and shrubbery as assigned.Replenish paper stock and supplies when needed.Report assigned maintenance where needed.Make minor repairs of equipment as assigned.Make provision for pupil emergencies when requested.Move, clean and set up furniture when requested.Raise and lower flags.Lock and unlock plant facilities, set alarms and secure campus.Replace light bulbs.Clean and maintain chalkboards.Incorporated with one or more of the previously mentioned essential functions of this job description are the following essential physical requirements:5% Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations.20% Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time.20% Ability to see for purposes of reading laws and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter and observing students.10% Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels.10% Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation.5% Ability to bend and twist, kneel and stoop, run and crawl.10% Ability to lift 70 lbs.10% Ability to carry 60 lbs.10% Ability to reach in assigned directions.Other related duties as assigned.
