Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for patients in the observation unit, including monitoring vital signs and evolving clinical status.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders; document responses and monitor for adverse effects.
- Collaborate with ED, inpatient teams, and ancillary services to coordinate patient flow, disposition decisions, and safe transitions from observation status.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record; participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Maintain patient safety and infection control standards; respond to changes in patient acuity and follow BLS/ACLS/PALS protocols.
- May float to other areas of competency as needed to support staffing demands.

Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience in a specialty similar to an observation/inpatient unit within an acute care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; TNCC preferred.
- Ability to manage mixed acuity and fast-paced workflows in an inpatient environment.
- Availability to work night shifts and complete the 13-week assignment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary setting.
