Purchasing Agent (HVAC) Full Time Harker Heating & Cooling, Inc., Madison, WI, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1026 Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $70,000.00 Annually About the Role: The Purchasing Agent in the HVAC industry plays a critical role in ensuring that all materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects are procured efficiently, cost-effectively, and in a timely manner. This position involves collaborating closely with project managers, sales associates, field personnel, local suppliers, to source HVAC equipment, materials, parts, and arrange pick-up and delivery to our shop or job sites. The Purchasing Agent is responsible for sourcing products for the best price, managing purchase orders, and maintaining accurate records to ensure accurate financials and reporting. By effectively managing supplier relationships and monitoring market trends, the Purchasing Agent helps minimize costs while ensuring uninterrupted business operations. Ultimately, this role contributes directly to the successful operation of the business by securing the necessary resources and maintaining supply chain integrity. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably within the HVAC industry. Strong knowledge of HVAC materials, equipment, and service parts. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the HVAC or Construction Industry Experience with Service Titan ERP software Experience with online order Highly organized with great communication skills Works well in a team environment Responsibilities: Ensure orders are placed accurately and timely to meet the demands of the projects and their duties. Ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials and services. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure procurement needs are met. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and monitor supplier performance. Skills: As a Purchasing Agent, you will utilize your skills to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services required for construction projects. Your ability to develop and implement procurement strategies, identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors, and collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders will be critical to your success. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software will be necessary to maintain accurate records of procurement activities and monitor supplier performance.
