Make a meaningful impact as a dedicated paraprofessional in a supportive school setting near Independence, MO. This contract opportunity involves providing essential one-on-one support to two female students—one in 4th grade, one in 11th grade—who are medically fragile. You’ll be a vital part of their daily routine, assisting with care needs that include toileting and diapering, and helping create a positive, safe, and inclusive experience at school.

Key Requirements and Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience as a paraprofessional or instructional aide in a special education or school environment
• Comfort with assisting medically fragile students, including hygiene, toileting, and diapering support
• Patience, empathy, and a respectful approach to supporting students with complex needs
• Ability to remain calm and resourceful when managing challenging behaviors—experience in behavioral intervention is beneficial for one caseload
• Familiarity with mobility supports such as a hoyer lift is a plus, but not required; training will be provided if needed
• Reliable attendance and commitment to the academic calendar, including Tuesday team meetings at 8:00am

Responsibilities Include:

• Providing direct 1:1 support throughout each student’s school day
• Assisting with personal care, hygiene, and health-related needs
• Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and team members to ensure consistency and individualized support
• Monitoring and recording student progress and behavior as needed
• Contributing to a safe, supportive, and respectful learning environment

Building hours are 8:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a slightly earlier start for Tuesday team meetings.
