Job Title : Production Shift Supervisor

Reports To : Operations & Maintenance Manager

FLSA Status: Salary, Non-Exempt

Responsibilities and Essential Skills:

· Responsible for the direction of Chemical Operators. 

· Must understand how to connect/disconnect hoses and inspect for leaks.

· Review production Batch Sheets and SOPs prior to beginning each batch.

· Must have the ability to understand and apply safe handling procedures on all materials used in a

production area, and ability to understand SDS (Safety Data Sheets) and batch sheets.

· Pull samples from vessels and sample port for lab analysis.

· Actively monitor batch process via computer monitor and manually when applicable, address and

report any deviations or concerns in a timely manner.

· Visually inspect equipment and notify maintenance department and supervisor of issues that require

attention.

· Visualize, comprehend, and communicate the process and equipment based on information from

control room gauges, instruments, and computer terminals.

· Learn and apply from memory operational and safety process, equipment, and procedural

information such as plant shutdown, start up and operating procedures.

· Document and report any batch issues and/or concerns in a timely manner.

· Maintain updated and accurate knowledge of procedures, programs, processes and follow as written.

· Recognize problems and make quick and correct decisions when problems occur.

· Must have basic computer skills and the ability to navigate through multiple screens effectively.

· Climb stairs and ladders up to 40 ft frequently, work at heights as much as 5 stories above ground,

wear protective breathing equipment and clothing for extended periods of time as needed.

· Basic math skills, ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide units of measure, using whole numbers,

common fractions, and compute ratio, rate, and percentages.

· Need to be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.

· Must have high mechanical aptitude and understand basic process of disconnecting instruments,

opening vessel doors and a basic understanding of pumps and how they operate.

· Perform any other duties as assigned.

Preferred Job Requirements:

· 4+ years previous production supervisor experience.

· 7+ years chemical operator experience or wastewater operator experience and must be familiar with

batch chemical processing operations.

· Experience monitoring batch or continuous chemical processes via HMI. Experience operating valves

and equipment manually and remotely.

· Experience using MRP to manage the process from receiving an order from Sales to packaging and

shipment of product. 

· Associates Degree or Technical Degree is preferred.

· HS/GED required.

· Previous experience with forklift or pallet jack preferred.
