OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

The Operations Specialist assists the Senior Director of Operations in all aspects of public-school-operations administration including computing, cybersecurity, and information-technology management and oversight. The Operations Specialist assists the school’s academic administration in observing and evaluating classroom instruction in the school’s Computer Science Department including classroom-instructor evaluation and the school’s curricular objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate institutional workplace experience in an academic setting, operational reliability, suitable technical expertise, and a classical-education background such that technology instruction and school operations maintain alignment with Liberty’s mission. FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Exempt EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Regular, Parttime WORK HOURS: 10-20 hours per week SALARY: $80.00-$100.00 per hour REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Operations REVISION DATE: September 2026 Information-technology background in an academic setting. Leadership experience in classical-education classroom instruction. BS in computer-information systems, computer science, or closely related discipline, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Experience with PowerSchool SIS. Comprehensive understanding of Liberty’s history and philosophy, or willingness to learn, and uphold and promote the mission and values of the school. Excellent problem-solving / troubleshooting skills. Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products and Google Workspace products. Integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality of student and personnel records. Demonstrated aptitude to be a key member of a hard-working, dynamic team. Proven communication skills involving difficult technological concepts such that end users can be well guided and informed. Demonstrated ability and willingness to represent the school in a professional manner to parents, students, and visitors. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, customer-driven environment. Demonstrated skill in prioritizing and successfully completing multiple tasks and projects. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions, use time efficiently, prioritize, demonstrate attention to detail, follow instructions, and respond to management direction. Self-motivation and team leadership. Ability to sit and stand (conducive to an office environment) for extended periods of time. Ability to use a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and move loads of up to 50 pounds over short distances. Ability to maneuver uneven surfaces, work in occasionally loud environments, and use office technology including computers, copiers, and printers.
