Legacy Data Engineer Ab Initio / Netezza

Job Overview

We are seeking a Legacy Data Engineer with strong experience in ETL development and legacy data technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Ab Initio, Netezza, Oracle, Python, and PySpark , along with exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Claude AI.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, maintain, and support complex ETL workflows.
Develop and enhance data integration solutions using Ab Initio .
Work with Netezza and Oracle databases for data extraction, transformation, and loading.
Develop complex SQL queries and perform data analysis and validation.
Build data processing solutions using Python and PySpark .
Support legacy data systems, data migration, and modernization initiatives.
Troubleshoot ETL jobs, data pipelines, and production issues.
Perform data quality checks and ensure accuracy and consistency of data.
Optimize ETL processes and data workflows for performance.
Collaborate with application, database, QA, and business teams.
Use Claude AI / Generative AI tools where appropriate to improve development and troubleshooting productivity.
Prepare technical documentation for data processes and solutions.

Required Skills

Strong experience in ETL/Data Engineering .
Hands-on experience with Ab Initio .
Experience with Netezza .
Strong experience with Oracle and SQL.
Experience with Python .
Experience with PySpark .
Experience working with legacy data environments.
Strong data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Understanding of data warehousing and data integration concepts.

Preferred

Experience with Claude AI or other Generative AI tools.
Experience with legacy system modernization and migration.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale data platforms.
