Branch Manager

General Summary

The Branch Manager is responsible for branch operations, policies, and procedures. The Branch Manager will ensure quality service to members through account transactions, loan applications, and new accounts. Maintaining regular and accurate reporting to executive management, this position will proactively enforce policies and procedures, reinforcing standards of sales and service through training, development, motivation, and coaching of staff. This position will help manage employee relations and make decisions supporting members and retail services staff.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Work with employees in your division/department as a team to problem solve, streamline workflow and otherwise join together to reach the goals set for your branch and/or department.
• Schedule adequate staff to ensure efficient branch operations. Approve and submit time in timely manner. Maintain cooperation between branches, including sharing of regular or float staff as needed.
• Recruit and select quality applicants for vacancies, ensuring that the credit union is adequately staffed with knowledgeable employees. Maintain a highly motivated and well-trained staff while sustaining effective employee relations.
• Review and evaluate policies and procedures for the branch. Ensure that the branch is in compliance with all federal laws and regulations set forth by the NCUA and other regulatory agencies. Comply with AGCU policies and procedures outlined in the employee policy and safety manuals.
• Recognize and evaluate the job performance of branch office staff to ensure quality of work and service to members. Provide regular review or "coaching" sessions with employees to ensure performance is being held to AGCU standards, also recognizing potential for development and growth.
• Monitor branch activity, lobby traffic, transaction volume, teller errors, loan volume, new accounts and closed accounts and other variables required.
• Conduct walk-through inspections of branch to ensure no additional maintenance or cleaning is necessary.
• Manage the security and safety of the branch. Analyze and monitor security equipment and security/safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis. Provide annual training of staff in branch security and robbery procedures. Maintain open and close procedures for daily operations.
• Conduct loan interviews, approve and/or close loans.
• Assist on the teller line as needed or during absences of staff.
• Assist staff or members in solving complex account problems.
• Maintain open line of communication through regular meetings to ensure that all information is being passed on in a timely manner.
• Make necessary decisions and provide direction to all Retail Services staff in the absence of the Vice President.
• Resolve member issues in the absence of the Vice President.
• Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Compensation Structure

• This role is exempt and performance-based.

Education & Experience

• HS Diploma required; degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum two years experience in business development, relationship management, banking, or financial services.
• Experience collaborating across teams to deliver customized solutions.
• Prior management, training, coaching, or onboarding experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of consumer and business banking products preferred.
• Knowledge of CRM or account management systems preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

• Typical working schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Primarily sedentary work performed in an in-office environment.
• Occasional lifting of materials up to 50 pounds may be required.
• Frequent communication via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
• Work performed primarily in an office environment with periodic external meetings.
