What You’ll Be Doing As an Estimator, you’ll be at the center of major steel projects from concept to bid submission. Your expertise will directly impact project success and company growth. Responsibilities Review drawings, specifications, and RFQs to complete detailed quantity takeoffs Develop accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, fabrication, and erection Prepare competitive bid proposals for structural and miscellaneous steel projects Analyze vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure complete scope coverage Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve questions and clarify project details Maintain estimating databases, historical cost records, and bid documentation What We’re Looking For Required Experience 5+ years of estimating experience in structural and/or miscellaneous steel Background working with a steel fabricator or erection contractor Proficiency with Bluebeam, Tekla EPM/PowerFab, or similar estimating software Knowledge of AISC standards, fabrication processes, and construction methods Strong Excel and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail Effective communication and problem‑solving abilities Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent industry experience) Experience working in union labor markets, particularly California Exposure to high‑rise, infrastructure, or large‑scale commercial steel projects Why This Opportunity Stands Out Work on Landmark Projects Be part of a team delivering impactful steel structures across the West Coast.
