Job Overview The Residence Life Coordinator for Facilities and Technology is a full‑time, 12‑month live‑on professional position in the Office of Residence Life. This role reports to the Director of Residence Life and is supervised by the Associate Director for Operations and Facilities Management. The Coordinator oversees work orders, repairs, renovations, and maintenance for residential facilities, and assists with occupancy management, safety, and security within the residential community. Responsibilities Conduct regular inspections of all residence halls to ensure effective maintenance. Plan, schedule, and evaluate preventive maintenance needs. Review and submit work orders to Physical Plant Operations (PPO) daily. Serve as the primary point of contact for students, parents, staff, and vendors concerning residential facilities operations and concerns. Oversee access management in the residence halls and maintain an accurate key inventory. Coordinate with PPO to prioritize and respond to work orders, meeting regularly with designated PPO supervisors. Provide training and serve as a resource for student staff on facilities management. Partner with PPO and Residence Life leadership to determine capital needs and improvements. Liaise with outside vendors and contractors (e.g., laundry services, pest control, waste management) to ensure scope of work is completed in compliance with policies and standards. Maintain accurate facilities records, building floor plans, and documentation of facilities‑related incidents. Develop and manage a comprehensive plan for cyclical furniture replacement. Assist with health, safety, and security protocols, including inspections, building access, and emergency procedures. Ensure accurate data and efficient workflows within the StarRez Housing Management System related to position responsibilities. Coordinate room inspection processes to ensure residential spaces are ready for occupancy throughout the housing cycle. Assist the Associate Director with developing and implementing departmental processes and procedures via the StarRez housing portal. Collaborate with the Associate Director to process damage charges in StarRez and provide related training. Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and the residential student experience. Attend weekly staff meetings and regular one‑on‑one supervision meetings. Participate in nightly on‑call rotation as second‑tier support for graduate staff, responding to crisis situations on campus as needed. Comply with all university employee reporting requirements, procedures, and training. Participate in critical Student Development events, including but not limited to Division Meetings, Orientation, Admissions Events, Tailgating, Homecoming, Residence Life Training, Move‑in, Housing Selection, Student Staff Selection, Move‑out, and other appropriate assignments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Higher Education, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of two years of professional or graduate experience in residence life, student activities, or another major functional area of student affairs. Must live full‑time in the assigned campus apartment and work from the assigned on‑campus office in a residence hall. Regular evening and some weekend work required; essential position that may require reporting to work during weather or emergency conditions. Comprehensive understanding of housing/residence life programs. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Strong interpersonal and human relations skills. Effective organizational, planning, and budgeting skills. Ability to collaborate with professional, paraprofessional, and administrative staff. Computer literacy related to housing management software, preferably with experience using StarRez. Compensation & Benefits Starting salary – AFT Range: $63,833.23 – $73,415.99. Eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance and retirement plans.
