Sr O&M Specialist

A brief overview of the role: Operating at a journeyman's level, autonomously performs service work and preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of complex specialized building systems such as mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulics, carpentry and/or machine servicing. Responsibilities Performs and oversees work orders for complex preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems at a journeyman’s level. Determines the nature of the problem and ensures that repairs at a journeyman’s level are completed in a timely and quality manner. Performs and guides the maintenance of machinery incidental to system operations at a journeyman’s level of expertise. Mentors and trains less experienced O&M Specialists. Education and Formal Training Required – Technical Degree or Diploma. Preferred – High School Diploma or Equivalent. Work Experience Requirements Required – O&M Specialist II 1-3 years. Required – Operations and maintenance 5-7 years. Licenses and Certifications Preferred – Licensed Journeyman Tennessee. Preferred – Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance Knowledge. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to read and write and to communicate verbally and in writing with other individuals. Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations. Ability to work from drawings, diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions. Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow. Possession of a valid driver’s license. Must be able to pass a DOT background check based on work facility. Physical Demands Occasional work performed outdoors. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations. Occasional travel to other locations. The physical activities of this position may include squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Heavy work – exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently. The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading. The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
