Senior Accountant

Empath Health is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will serve as a key contributor to the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across a complex, multi-entity healthcare organization. This position offers the opportunity to work on a broad range of accounting functions—including financial reporting, regulatory compliance, consolidations, and process improvement, while partnering with leadership and operational teams to enhance financial stewardship and decision-making. The ideal candidate is both analytical and collaborative, with the ability to operate at a high level while also rolling up their sleeves to support day-to-day accounting operations. What you'll Do Prepare and review monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and timeliness Lead key accounting processes including consolidations, overhead allocations, accrual analysis, and general ledger activity Support regulatory compliance efforts, including cost reports, grant reporting, audits, and tax-related filings Partner with internal stakeholders to improve financial reporting accuracy, strengthen internal controls, and support operational decision-making Perform detailed financial analysis, research complex accounting issues, and apply appropriate accounting treatment across diverse scenarios Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance for general ledger staff and accounting processes Why Join Empath Health? What You'll Need Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; CPA strongly preferred 5+ years of progressive general ledger accounting experience (public accounting or healthcare experience preferred) Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office , with experience in Workday accounting systems (required) Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams What You'll Find at Empath Health Unified in empathy, we serve our communities through extraordinary Full Life Care for All.
