Job Summary

Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular nursing position for a healthcare provider. The role supports critically ill cardiovascular patients requiring advanced monitoring, post-cardiac surgery care, ventilator management, vasoactive medication titration, and complex clinical interventions. The position is scheduled for 12-hour night shifts with weekend and holiday coverage.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of cardiovascular intensive care unit experience; active Illinois licensure; cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification; National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification; Epic experience; successful completion of an electrocardiogram (EKG) assessment with a score of at least 80%.
• Schedule: Night shifts of 12 hours, 36 hours per week, every other weekend, and holidays as scheduled; no on-call requirement.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias; care for multi-system organ failure; thermoregulation; coronary artery bypass grafting; intra-aortic balloon pump and Impella support; post-cardiac surgery care; pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and interventions; pulmonary artery line and Swan-Ganz monitoring; valve replacement and repair; left and right ventricular assist device management; continuous veno-venous hemodialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy; intravenous therapy; arterial line, central line, and peripherally inserted central catheter management; blood product administration; continuous intravenous paralytic, neuromuscular blockade, sedation, emergency, and procedural medications; cardiac and vasoactive drip titration; cerebrovascular accident and acute stroke management; lumbar drains; bilevel positive airway pressure and continuous positive airway pressure support; ventilated patient care; high-flow nasal cannula; arterial blood gas interpretation; suctioning; ventilator management; infection prevention and isolation precautions; personal protective equipment use; phlebotomy; and management of surgical wounds, drains, and wound vacuum therapy.
