Join us.The Sustaining Quality Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining quality systems to ensure compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements. This role plays a critical part in managing nonconformances, driving corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to product and process specifications.The position partners closely with Operations and Product Engineering teams to ensure timely resolution of quality issues, minimize risk, and sustain a high level of product and process integrity.ResponsibilitiesSupport the review and disposition non-conforming material, ensuring proper documentation, risk assessment, and timely resolutionLead and support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), including root cause analysis, implementation, and effectiveness verificationManage quality STOPS/SLAMS as needed to contain risk and protect product qualityConduct and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits; ensure timely closure of audit findingsTrack and report key quality system metrics, including nonconformance trends, CAPA effectiveness, and audit performanceReview product and process specifications to ensure compliance and proper interpretation in manufacturingEnsure adherence to quality management systems (QMS) and applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100)Support continuous improvement of quality systems, procedures, and documentationCollaborate with Operations and Engineering to address quality issues and prevent recurrenceTrain and guide personnel on quality requirements, procedures, and compliance expectationsJob RequirementsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or related field)3 – 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, quality systems, or manufacturing qualityStrong knowledge of nonconformance management, CAPA processes, and auditsPreferred QualificationsWorking knowledge of SA&C production processesFamiliarity with quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)Experience with quality management systems and document control processSkilled inStrong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teamsHigh attention to detail and strong process disciplineWe thrive when the expectations are great, and the barriers are high.
