Gehris & Associates, LLC is an established Illinois law firm with more than 35 years of experience serving individuals and families. Our AV-rated attorneys practice family law, real estate law, and estate planning throughout McHenry, Kane, and Lake Counties.
Position
We are seeking a family law associate attorney who can work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team. The attorney will meet directly with clients, manage a personal caseload, and be responsible for handling assigned files from intake through resolution.
Responsibilities
● Manage a caseload involving dissolution, decision making allocation, parenting time, child support, maintenance, and asset division
● Meet with clients and provide ongoing case updates
● Draft pleadings, motions, agreements, and correspondence
● Communicate with opposing counsel and other professionals
● Appear in court and participate in hearings and other proceedings
● Collaborate with attorneys and staff
Qualifications
● Licensed to practice law in Illinois
● Prior family law experience required
● Ability to manage files independently
● Strong communication, organization, writing, and case-management skills
● Professional, detail-oriented, and team-focused
