Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough physical examinations, develop treatment plans, and deliver comprehensive care for patients within the urgent care scope.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests including X-rays, lab results, and EKGs to assist with accurate patient diagnosis and treatment decisions.
• Triage patients effectively, managing the flow of care to minimize wait times and enhance patient satisfaction.
• Perform essential procedures such as digital blocks, minor surgeries (wound closures, I&D, foreign body removal), and diagnostic injections (aspirations of joints and cysts).
• Administer IV fluids and perform closed reductions for simple fractures or dislocations, ensuring patients receive timely interventions.
• Supervise daily operations and provide guidance to nurse practitioners and other advanced practice clinicians, serving as a clinical resource.
• Ensure patient follow-up through callbacks and management of lab results during shifts, maintaining continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an NP in our urgent care clinic, you will interact with a varied patient demographic, addressing the healthcare needs of individuals from all age groups. Our patient population ranges from young children experiencing acute illnesses to adults requiring urgent interventions. Your role is vital in assessing, diagnosing, and implementing treatment plans that contribute to improved health outcomes for each patient.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid state RN license and a Nurse Practitioner license with current national certification.
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in nursing; a Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) is preferred.
• Have a minimum of one year of clinical experience working in an emergency room, urgent care, or a similar high-acuity healthcare setting.
• Maintain a current and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of New York, including a DEA number and controlled substance license.
• Exhibit the ability to treat patients across all ages, demonstrating a broad scope of practice.
• Willingness to work variable hours including two full weekends per month as part of a full-time commitment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience in urgent care or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to enhance communication and patient management.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 140,000 to 180,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
