About The Role The Internal Communications Senior Manager is an integral part of Latham’s Brand and Communications team. This role will be responsible for acting as a strategic advisor, manager, and mentor, while designing and leading brand initiatives, including providing expert, strategic counsel regarding current internal communication channels and recommending new ones. This role will be located in our New York office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence. Responsibilities Engaging with creative and video teams to create compelling visual and multimedia elements into communications Developing and executing internal communications programs to enhance the reputation and awareness of firm programs across all internal channels Providing creative thinking and strategy consulting, including comprehensive editorial calendars, internal product/service launches, awareness campaigns, issues promotion, and special projects Developing and supervising their team by performing a multitude of responsibilities, including but not limited to strategy development, hiring, mentoring, assignment, training, and evaluation Reviewing and analyzing data to measure effectiveness, impact, and engagement of communications programs and special projects Work across large scale AI initiatives, champion AI-enabled tools and workflows across practice groups, partner with AI and Technology teams as needed Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains Desired Skills & Attributes Display superior leadership skills (i.e., organizing, planning, problem-solving and decision-making) necessary for effective management Possess the ability to understand the "larger picture" and firm business goals Demonstrate excellent professional interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm, and adeptness at influencing and building consensus Qualifications & Experience A bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with significant coursework in English or Creative Writing, Communications, or Marketing, preferably A minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience developing internal campaigns for varied employee groups or clients A minimum of ten (10) years of cumulative experience Background knowledge and experience in the law, preferably Experience managing and developing direct reports, preferably Benefits & Additional Information Healthcare, life and disability insurance A generous 401k plan At least 11 paid holidays per year, and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenure Well-being programs (e.g. mental health services, mindfulness and resiliency, medical resources, well-being events, and more) Professional development programs Employee discounts Affinity groups, networks, and coalitions for lawyers and staff Latham & Watkins is an equal opportunity employer.
