Intellectual Property Attorney

Remote | Full-Time | up to $150,000 + Regular Bonuses

Gallium Law is a fully remote intellectual property firm, and we’re growing. We’re looking for an experienced IP attorney who is excited about where the practice of law is headed and wants to help continue building this great firm.

We’re looking for someone entrepreneurial. That doesn’t mean you need to have a book of business or want to run your own firm. It means you take ownership of your work, enjoy working directly with clients, have ideas, and aren’t afraid to question whether there’s a better way to do something.

We want someone who wants more than a list of assignments.

What you’ll do

You’ll work directly with clients and independently manage a range of IP matters, including:

• Patent preparation and prosecution
• Trademark prosecution and portfolio management
• USPTO Office Actions
• IP strategy and portfolio counseling
• Direct client advising and relationship management

You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved in the business beyond your legal work. We’re actively thinking about how AI and technology can improve our practice, how to better serve clients, and where Gallium should go next. If you have an idea, we want to hear it. If you see something that could work better, we want you to help fix it. We want your ideas, not just your hours.

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of IP experience
• USPTO registration
• Admission to at least one state bar
• Strong patent prosecution and trademark experience
• Ability to independently manage matters and client relationships
• Strong judgment, communication, and follow-through
• An interest in AI, technology, and how the practice of law is changing

You don’t need to bring a book of business. We do want someone who enjoys building relationships with clients and is interested in the business side of a law firm.

How we work

We’re fully remote and give people a lot of autonomy. With that comes an expectation that you own your work, communicate well, and follow through.

We also set a handful of priorities each quarter—our Boulders —so everyone knows what we’re working toward as a firm. Some are team goals, and some are individual, and our bonus structure is tied to accomplishing both.

Compensation is up to $150,000 base salary plus regular bonuses based on individual and team performance.
