Specialist, Payments Education

Position Summary The Payments Education Specialist leverages knowledge of the various payment channels used in the United States to support financial institution members and corporate subscribers of TCHPA. In addition to providing ad‑hoc member service and support, the Specialist develops and delivers payments education to various audiences using multiple methods of delivery. The role may also involve execution of consulting and compliance engagements under the direction of the Director, Payments Compliance & Consulting. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Receives telephone and email inquiries and responds with timely support and/or solutions to provide top‑line customer service for members and others. Stays current on rules and regulations for the various payment systems. Works with the team to identify, develop and deliver payments‑related education for members, subscribers and prospects. Participates in the planning and execution of payments education programming for members. Participates in the planning and execution of payments‑related contracted engagements, special consulting projects and custom payments education programming for members. Represents the company with a professional appearance and conduct. Participates in internal/external education to ensure expertise and consistency of performance. Travel required over the course of the year; some seasons have heavier demand. Required Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; and two to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 2–5 years of business or financial institution operations experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) with strong knowledge of the ACH payment system. Knowledge of other payment systems including wire, check, credit/debit cards, and instant payments helpful. Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong detail‑oriented, organized, and analytical skills. Proficiency with MS Office applications: Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Presenter experience using WebEx, GoToMeetings or a similar webinar program necessary. Desired Qualifications Other payments industry certifications: APRP, AFPP, NCP, and CTP desired. Website administration skills a plus. Physical Demands and Work Environment Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature and no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise or dust. Work is performed within an office environment with standard office equipment available. Employees in this position will report to the office three days per week.
