Graphic Designer

Our client is a major transportation agency responsible for connecting communities and supporting mobility across the DC region. The Graphic Designer will develop and design layouts for various mediums, including print and digital, with a focus on clear messaging for diverse audiences. This role involves transforming creative briefs into visual products such as illustrations, publications, and visual aids, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to generate innovative communication solutions. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, paying $52.00 per hour. It is a contract position. Responsibilities Develop and design layouts for print and digital media that communicate clear themes and messages. Create visual content including illustrations, maps, and signs to support station signage and wayfinding systems. Collaborate with copywriters, videographers, research teams, and project managers to brainstorm and execute creative solutions. Assist with the production and finalization of visual communications, ensuring adherence to mobile-first best practices. Organize and store creative assets within digital asset management systems. Contribute to iterative design processes, rethinking solutions, and gaining stakeholder buy-in. Qualifications Minimum of five years demonstrated experience in graphic and multimedia design, preferably within an agency or in-house team. Strong UX and graphic design expertise, with a focus on cartography/map design preferred. Transit industry experience is a plus. Proficiency with design tools and digital asset management systems. Ability to interpret creative briefs and collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. Experience with iterative design methods and stakeholder engagement.
