You will work closely with nursing staff and providers to ensure timely and accurate test results that directly impact patient care decisions.Day-to-day responsibilities typically include performing phlebotomy on inpatients and, as needed, on outpatients

collecting venous and capillary specimens

ensuring correct patient identification and labeling

and following strict protocols for specimen handling and processing. You will perform testing in core laboratory sections such as hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, and immunology, depending on your experience and departmental needs. Responsibilities also include running quality controls, performing routine instrument maintenance, verifying and reporting results through the laboratory's information system, and communicating critical values promptly to care teams.
