Machine Operator

This role supports multiple CNC router machine operators by loading and unloading parts and materials, following written instructions, and ensuring consistent product quality. You will assist with machine startup, perform visual inspections of parts as they come off the machines, and help document production data and final reporting. You will also actively look for ways to improve processes while working closely with a collaborative production team.

Responsibilities

• Assist multiple CNC router machine operators with daily production activities.
• Load and unload parts and materials from multiple CNC router machines in a safe and efficient manner.
• Support machine startup procedures under the direction of the primary machine operator.
• Select the correct parts and materials based on written directions and job documentation.
• Perform visual inspections of parts as they come off the machines to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Accurately document production data, including counts, measurements, and other required information.
• Complete final reporting and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Follow established work instructions, safety guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with team members in both the machine area and assembly area to meet production goals.
• Look for opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and product quality, and communicate suggestions to leadership.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and handle equipment and materials with care.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of stable work history in machine operation or a closely related production role.
• Experience operating or assisting with machine operation in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability and willingness to learn machine setup procedures, even if prior setup experience is limited.
• Ability to follow written directions and job instructions accurately.
• Capability to perform visual inspections and identify obvious defects or irregularities in parts.
• Comfort working in a general production or general labor environment with multiple machines.
• Ability to work well with a team while also functioning effectively with limited supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation and reporting.
• Reliable work habits, including consistent attendance and punctuality.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience with CNC router machines or similar equipment.
• Experience in both machine operation and general production or assembly environments.
• Demonstrated willingness and desire to learn and grow within a manufacturing organization.
• Comfort working around multiple machines and adapting to different tasks as needed.

Work Environment

The facility includes two primary areas separated by a wall: a dedicated machine area and a complete assembly area. You will work in both environments, supporting production needs across the shop. The role involves hands-on work around CNC router machines and general production equipment, requiring comfort with a manufacturing setting, standing for extended periods, and handling materials and parts throughout the shift. The environment emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to established procedures while providing opportunities to learn different parts of the production process.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chanhassen, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
