Project Coordinator – Hospitality Design & Permitting Little Tokyo, Los Angeles (Hybrid) $32–$40/hr (Based on Experience) Full-Time | Hourly | 3 Days In-Office Minimum About FE Design & Consulting FE Design & Consulting is a boutique permit expediting and design firm with over 20 years of experience helping independent restaurants, bars, and hospitality spaces come to life across Los Angeles. From Michelin-caliber kitchens to neighborhood cocktail bars, we navigate the complex web of City Planning, Building, and Health Department regulations so our clients can focus on creating memorable guest experiences. Our office, located in historic Little Tokyo , is a collaborative team of designers, drafters, and project coordinators who value transparency, mentorship, and a shared appreciation for the hospitality world. Personality and communication skills are an absolute must-have. What You’ll Do Managing timelines, deliverables, and client communication for multiple projects Coordinating with drafters, engineers, and agency officials to move projects through plan check Reviewing and responding to Health Department and Building Department comments Conducting site visits , verifying field conditions, and attending plan check meetings Preparing and submitting detailed response letters, narratives, and resubmittal packages Tracking project hours, updates, and documentation using project management software Supporting a culture of collaboration and clear communication across the FE team What We’re Looking For 1+ years of project coordination experience (preferably in architecture, construction, or permitting) Familiarity with commercial restaurant or bar build-outs Ability to read and understand architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans Excellent written and verbal communication skills Organized, proactive, and comfortable juggling multiple deadlines Proficiency in project management tools (we’ll train you on ours) Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or related field Local to the Los Angeles area — 3 in-office days per week required Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client meetings and site visits (PMP certification or agency expediting experience is a plus.)
