Advanced Quality Engineer

Basic Qualifications Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related Science, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time from date of hire. You'll work embedded with cross-functional program teams to drive quality excellence from contract award through delivery and closeout.What You'll DoProgram Quality Support:Serve as the primary quality representative for assigned programs, acting as the quality focal point between program management, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and customersDevelop and maintain program-specific Quality Plans and tailoring documentation in accordance with contract requirements and GDMS processesParticipate in Program Baseline Reviews, Program Reviews, and Engineering Status Reviews to assess quality performance and identify risksConduct monthly Program Quality Assessments, tracking metrics including NCRs, CARs, audit findings, and corrective action statusQuality Assurance & Compliance:Review contract requirements and ensure proper flow-down of quality requirements to specifications, procedures, suppliers, and subcontractorsPerform process audits and product audits per AS9100D requirements; generate findings and track corrective actions to closureWitness and monitor critical test activities, first article inspections, and qualification eventsSupport internal and external (customer) audits; prepare compliance evidence and respond to audit findingsProblem Resolution & Continuous Improvement:Lead root cause analysis and corrective action development for nonconformances, customer complaints, and quality escapesInterface with Material Review Board (MRB) for disposition of nonconforming materialIdentify quality trends and drive preventive actions; recommend process improvementsManage Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and coordinate with Supplier Quality and Supply Chain on supplier quality issuesCapture and disseminate lessons learnedDocumentation & Metrics:Review engineering drawings, specifications, test procedures, and manufacturing documentation for conformance to requirementsGenerate quality metrics and reports for program leadership and customersMaintain quality records in compliance with AS9100D and contract requirementsSupport customer data deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs) as requiredWhat You Bring to the TableRequired:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics field plus 5+ years of relevant quality engineering experience; OR Master's degree plus 3+ years of relevant experienceWorking knowledge of AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 quality management systemsExperience with aerospace/defense quality requirements and government contracting (FAR/DFAR)Proficiency with inspection/measurement tools and techniquesStrong analytical skills with experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting quality metricsProficient in Microsoft Office suite and data analysis toolsPreferred:AS9100 Auditor certification or internal auditor trainingExperience with IPC standards (J-STD-001, A-610, A-600) for electronic assembliesExperience with First Article Inspection (AS9102) requirementsKnowledge of CMMI, FRACAS, or other process improvement frameworksExperience with ERP/MRB systems Understanding of Configuration Management and Engineering Change processesWhat Sets You ApartCustomer Focus: Exceptional communication skills to interface professionally with program customers, and senior leadershipCross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management teamsEthical Leadership: Demonstrated ability to make difficult decisions and stop shipments when quality issues require resolutionProblem Solving: Creative thinker who can analyze complex quality issues and develop practical solutionsAttention to Detail: Meticulous in reviewing technical documentation while maintaining program schedule awarenessSelf-Starter: Proactive approach to identifying and addressing quality risks before they become problemsIdentifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovationWhat You'll ExperienceMission-critical work supporting the warfighter and national securityA team of bold thinkers committed to exploring what's nextOpportunities to gain new knowledge in aerospace quality and advanced manufacturingCareer growth in a company that values quality excellence and continuous improvement#LI#CJ1 Salary Note This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
