City Treasurer

As Treasurer of the City of Florence, this individual's main responsibility is the City's finances; to include payables, receivables, payroll, budget, as well as coordinates between many entities both governmental and nongovernmental. Performs other duties as required. Knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Municipal laws and procedures is required. Must be familiar with modern office practices, procedures, generally accepted accounting principles; accounting controls, budgeting, expense tracking; basic banking and tax practices and procedures. Experience with municipal financial analysis and budget creation and maintenance is desired. Skill in the use of computers, Microsoft Office, and QuickBooks applications. Must be a Notary Public Licensure (or able to obtain). Maintain membership in "Good Standing" with TCMA, ICMA, GFOAT, and any other organizations required for the position. Successful completion of the following training within thirty (30) days of hire: Public Finance Investment Act Training (10 Hours), Open Meetings Act Training (1 Hour), and Public Information Act Training (1 Hour). A bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred. A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in municipal government administrative methods, finance, procedures, organizations, and functions management is required. Certified Public Manager or International City Management Association (ICMA) Credential Manager is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
