Industrial Automation TechnicianDO Supply is a global supplier of industrial automation equipment. We are seeking an Industrial Automation Technician to join our Production team and support the testing, refurbishment, repair, and calibration of industrial automation equipment.This position focuses on PLCs, drives, HMIs, motors, robotics, and other industrial control products. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically minded, and enjoys troubleshooting and solving complex technical problems. Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, drives, and industrial robotics is highly desirable.Key ResponsibilitiesTest, repair, calibrate, and refurbish industrial automation equipment including PLCs, drives, HMIs, motors, robotics, and control devicesTroubleshoot equipment failures using diagnostic equipment, schematics, soldering techniques, and component-level analysisUtilize and apply high-voltage troubleshooting and testing techniques on equipment operating at 240VAC and higherVerify repairs and functionality using multimeters, oscilloscopes, tachometers, simulators, and other testing equipmentConfigure and program automation devices, including parameter setup and communications verificationDocument repair activities, testing results, and equipment status within company systemsPerform quality inspections to ensure repaired equipment meets operational and quality standards prior to shipmentCoordinate with Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, and Operations teams to support customer orders and product availabilityMaintain and improve testing equipment, fixtures, and workstationsIdentify and recommend opportunities for process improvements that improve quality, efficiency, and throughputShare technical knowledge and collaborate with other team membersAssist with training and mentoring less-experienced technicians as knowledge and experience increaseAdapt to varying workloads involving diagnostics, repair, calibration, validation, and order fulfillment supportPerform other duties, tasks, or work as assignedWhat We Are Looking ForStrong technical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skillsExperience working with electrical, electronic, or industrial automation equipmentExperience working with high-voltage equipment operating at 240VAC or greaterSoldering experience including through-hole and surface-mount componentsAbility to think critically and solve technical problems independentlyComfortable working in a fast-paced production environmentStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityEffective written and verbal communication skillsBasic computer proficiency and recordkeeping abilitiesDesire to learn industrial automation products and technologiesKnowledge and SkillsUnderstanding of industrial automation systems and controlsExperience using diagnostic and testing equipmentAbility to read electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical documentationStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilitiesKnowledge of PLCs, HMIs, drives, motors, and related automation equipment preferredExperience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and drives highly preferredRobotics experience with FANUC or Yaskawa Motoman systems highly desiredFamiliarity with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer applicationsStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize work effectivelyEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAND ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:Technical School Certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation, or a related fieldORMinimum of 2 years of related industrial automation, electronics, repair, maintenance, or technical experienceKnowledge of industrial automation products is a plusDO Supply BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision coverage starting Day 1 of employment10 PTO days5 paid sick daysPaid company holidaysCompany-paid short-term and long-term disabilityCompany-paid life insurance401(k) with employer matchingWork ScheduleThis is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm with a flexible one-hour lunch break. Employees must maintain reliable transportation and consistent attendance. Remote work is not available for this position.Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a production and warehouse environment. Employees work with industrial automation equipment, electronic devices, testing systems, hand tools, soldering equipment, repair fixtures, and high-voltage industrial controls. Frequent standing, walking, typing, and repetitive hand-tool use are required. Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds may be required. Team members collaborate closely with Production, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, and Operations departments to support customer needs and business objectives.Protective footwear meeting ASTM F2413 standards (steel-toe or composite-toe) must be worn at all times in Operations areas.
