Senior Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack/Big Data

Salary: $61,000 - 101,000 per year Requirements:

• Formal software engineering training or certification, with at least 5 years of applied experience
• Practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages or technologies, including Java, J2EE, React, or Angular
• Experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for activities such as coding, code review, testing, or troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating AI-generated output for correctness, performance, and security
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, resiliency, and security; experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant practices and controls
• Experience with relational databases and SQL
• Knowledge of Git, Bitbucket, and Maven
• Advanced understanding of agile practices, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
• Demonstrated proficiency with software applications and technical processes in a technical discipline such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile
• Hands-on cloud-native experience with AWS services, cloud computing, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud
• Experience developing microservices and REST APIs
• Preferred: Experience with Java 8, 11, or 17 and object-oriented design and analysis
• Preferred: Familiarity with big data technologies, ideally Spark
• Preferred: Experience with Unix, shell scripting, or Python

• Provide technical guidance and direction to the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others
• Lead adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes; establish measurable validation standards and encourage reuse of proven patterns and automation across the software development lifecycle and toolchain
• Apply software development lifecycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation at scale
• Shape decisions about product design, application functionality, technical operations, and processes
• Act as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas
• Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide software development lifecycle frameworks, tools, and practices
• Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use of leading-edge technologies
