Buyer IFull-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt) $24.65 - $27.26Position Summary/Objective of job:The Buyer I is responsible for purchasing and order management for Salt & Straw's scoop shop network. This role works closely with Shop Operations, Logistics, and vendors to make sure shop supplies, operational goods, and retail materials are ordered, tracked, and available to support daily shop operations.Day-to-day, the Buyer I handles Sysco ordering, processes purchase orders, communicates with shop teams on supply needs, and helps resolve fulfillment issues as they come up. Over time, this role will gain exposure to CKOR and manufacturing purchasing by working alongside the Buyer II — building a strong foundation for growth within the Supply Chain team.Essential Functions:Own purchasing and replenishment for scoop shop operational supplies, retail materials, and shop goods — monitoring par levels and proactively managing reorder timingManage Sysco ordering and analyze reporting trends to identify opportunities for improved purchasing efficiency, inventory optimization, and waste reductionServe as the primary point of communication between Supply Chain and scoop shop teams on supply availability, substitutions, item changes, and day-to-day operational needsPartner with Shop Operations to support new shop openings, seasonal launches, and ongoing shop supply execution.Troubleshoot supply and fulfillment issues impacting scoop shop operations; coordinate resolutions with vendors and distribution partnersCreate and manage purchase orders in NetSuite; maintain accurate vendor and item recordsSupport inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and ERP inventory accuracy for shop-related materialsReconcile invoices in partnership with AccountingSupport pricing analysis and reporting on shop purchasing trends and variancesAssist with supplier onboarding and collection of required quality documentationSupport the Buyer II with CKOR and manufacturing purchasing tasks to build exposure to production procurement processesContribute to ongoing improvements in purchasing and inventory management processesAdditional Responsibilities:Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Business Administration preferred, or equivalent education and experience0-2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, retail operations, or a related roleExperience with ERP software a plus; willingness to learn NetSuite requiredExperience in manufacturing, retail, hospitality, or food service operations preferredKnowledge and Critical Skills:Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, seasonal businessClear communicator — able to relay supply availability, substitutions, and operational updates to shop teams in a timely and accessible wayBrings hospitality into all interactions with shop staff, vendors, and cross-functional partners — approachable, responsive, and solution-orientedComfortable working with data; able to review Sysco reports, track ordering trends, and flag discrepanciesEager to learn and grow; receptive to direction and feedback, with an interest in developing broader supply chain and purchasing skills over timeHigh level of integrity and honesty in all interactions; handles vendor and cost information with discretionProficient in MS Office SuiteFluent in EnglishPhysical Demands:Sitting 75% of the time; walking 15%; standing 10%Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephoneFrequent repetitive motionRegularly required to talk, hear, and seeOccasionally required to lift and carry up to 15 lbsSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusWork Environment:Sitting 75% of the time; walking 15%; standing 10%Frequently required to use hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, including a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephoneFrequent repetitive motionRegularly required to talk, hear, and seeOccasionally required to lift and carry up to 15 lbsSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusSalt and Straw ValuesCreate The UnbelievableShow Up GenerouslyAct With Thoughtful CuriosityShare Human KindnessMake It CountCommuter BenefitsSalt & Straw offers an employer-sponsored Commuter Benefit, administered by ALICE.
