Inventory Planning and Purchasing Buyer

The Buyer is responsible for planning and buying products to support the business's inventory needs and sales projections. The Purchasing Buyer manages assigned vendor relationships and partners with the Key Account Sales Manager team to research, evaluate, and on-board new vendor accounts. Forecast, plan, and purchase products that best fit our customer needs at negotiated and specified cost, quality, and delivery targets. Cash discounts and payment terms.

In partnership with the Key Account Sales Manager team, develop and recommend vendor programs to increase margin dollars by product line.

Review suggested order reports and replenish inventories at the required levels.

Responsible for managing inventory adjustments monthly in partnership with Warehouse and Operational teams.

Maintains inventories and places orders for all assigned vendors.

Key player in managing inventory control, exit strategy for discontinued items, and the return of slow‑selling products.

Previous experience in buying within a Distributor or Web‑retailer

Previous experience preferred in working within Forecasting and Purchase Order modules of a major ERP, Microsoft Dynamics ERP a plus

Proficient in MS Office

Ability to multi‑task and work independently with moderate guidance on several projects simultaneously

ability to articulate clearly and professionally via telephone, email, and business meetings
