This position offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment that's constantly evolving.Main responsibilities:Responsible for managing the repair and maintenance of the retail MHE (material handling equipment) fleet. This requires communicating repairs and replacements with store personnel.Set and monitor maintenance performance targets both short and long term.Stay abreast on current and future Federal, State, and Municipal laws and regulations, collective bargaining agreements and company work requirements regarding maintenance and warehouse operation.Manage labor relations by dealing with grievances, corporate, warehouse employees, and union business agents.Ensure that all facility and equipment meet regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, USDA, FDA, NFPA, etc.)Ensure that all department personnel are trained in the safe operation and repairs of all equipment. This includes emergency tasks and proceduresManage capital development, cost estimation and project management.Ensure safe operation of all refrigeration systems (ammonia, boilers, chillers, etc.), with oversight of PSM (process safety management)Ensure all CMMS data is current and accurate. This would include assets, purchasing, inventory andfor department supervision, engineers, mechanics, and associated personnel.Develop a work environment within distribution that promotes trust, teamwork quality and safety.Assist in the creation, review and modification of existing workflow procedures and tasksWe are looking for candidates who possess the following:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required4 years management experience (preferably in refrigerated distribution)Strong overall knowledge of anhydrous ammonia refrigeration systems, process safety management (PSM / OSHA), and risk management plan (RMP / EPA) complianceMust have working knowledge of (National Fire Protection) NFPA 20, NFPA 13, and NFPA E-70 (Shock Hazard and Arc Flash)Possess a skilled labor aptitude to understand the mechanical, electrical, piping, and structural equipmentWorking knowledge of building automation systemsProficient in understanding blueprints and electrical schematicsExcellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibilityExperience in a union environment (strong labor relations skills preferred)Strong interpersonal and team building skills.
