Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law.Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:00 pm; occasional hours outside this may be requiredBenefits: Health, dental, vision, life, accident, and critical illness insurance; 403(b) retirement with match; PTO; personal leave; overtime; bonuses; wellness perks including ClassPass membershipTuition assistance: 10% off CCU online programsMay be eligible for student loan forgiveness through the Public Service Federal Loan Forgiveness ProgramAdvancement: Strong internal promotion culture and career development opportunitiesMentorship: Learn from experienced staff and grow your behavioral coaching skillsWhat You'll DoServe as a youth mentor and behavioral coach, guiding students through challenging situations and helping them develop self-regulation and pro-social skillsSupervise students in the school setting, model appropriate behaviors, and promote positive developmentUse crisis intervention, de-escalation techniques, behavior management strategies, clear boundaries, and structured routines to keep the environment safe and supportiveDocument behaviors, communicate with the team, and help implement behavior plansSupport teachers while taking active responsibility for student engagement and behavior outcomesResponsible for working with youth who have emotional and behavioral issues resulting from trauma and neglect, and who display verbal and physical aggressionYou'll have the opportunity to intervene, guide, and influence student outcomes daily. Your actions will help youth grow, while your skills and judgment are valued and developed through ongoing training and mentorship.Who Succeeds in This RoleStays calm under stress and has strong emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skillsBuilds trusting relationships with students and the team using trauma-informed and culturally responsive communicationMaintains firm but respectful boundariesEnjoys mentoring youth who struggle in traditional settings who may have behavioral disorders, emotional disturbances, trauma histories, or mental health needsHas hands-on experience working with youth in education, behavioral health, recreation, mentoring, or similar rolesRequired QualificationsMust hold a Bachelor's Degree in health/human services/education-related fieldMust have experience working with youthMust be at least 23 years of ageMust have a valid Colorado driver's license or the ability to obtain one with a clean motor vehicle recordMust be willing to pass FBI fingerprint & child abuse database background checksApplicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background screening as a condition of employment, in accordance with Colorado Department of Human Services regulations for child care facilities. This screening includes state criminal background checks, fingerprinting, sex offender registry searches, and abuse and neglect clearances. If the applicant has lived in any other state within the past five years, equivalent background and abuse/neglect checks from those states will also be conducted.
