We are looking for a detail-oriented Property Accountant to support a real estate and property organization. This contract position with permanent potential is ideal for someone who enjoys working across multiple property portfolios while maintaining accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls. The role focuses on financial statement preparation, reconciliations, month-end activities, and close collaboration with property operations teams to ensure timely and reliable accounting results.

Responsibilities:

• Complete bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, and balance sheet account analysis to maintain clean and reliable financial records.

• Record journal entries, accruals, and other adjusting transactions as part of the month-end close process.

• Partner with property managers and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting questions and provide financial insight for day-to-day property operations.

• Assist with account reconciliations, trial balance review, and audit preparation.

• Respond to internal and external financial inquiries in a timely manner while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• Prior experience in property accounting, general ledger accounting or similar.

• Hands-on knowledge of month-end close, accrual accounting, reconciliations, and trial balance preparation.

• Proficiency with accounting platforms such as Yardi, RealPage, along with strong Microsoft Excel skills including formulas and data analysis.

• Solid understanding of general ledger, financial statements, and balance sheet account management.

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize priorities, manage multiple deadlines, and maintain accurate records.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to working across teams.

• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and willingness to adapt to new tools, processes, and business needs.
